Energize Me Green Tea

I have recently cut out simple sugar out of my diet and this has started me on the search for healthy snacks.  There is a great refreshing beverage that I found and I wanted to share because it soooo GOOD.  The main ingredient in this recipe has Green Tea in it and Green Tea is a very powerful anti-oxidant that is linked with inhibiting cancer cells from growing and many more health benefits.

Green Tea Frappuccino Blended

Tea:

2 green -tea bags

1/2 cup boiling water

1 packet Truvia (you can get this in the sugar area)

1 cup of ice

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 scoop (30 grams) Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (I used a vanilla whey protein powder that I already had. I did not buy this brand)

 

Whipping Topping:

1/2 cup cold whipping cream

1 packet Truvia

 

Directions:

1. For the tea: Pour boiling water over the tea bags; allow to steep for 5 minutes.  Remove tea bags and carefully squeeze, then stir in sweetener (Truvia); chill.  Combine the chilled tea mixture with the next three ingredients in a blender, and process until smoother.

 

2. For the whipped topping: Whip cream with sweetener until soft peaks form.

 

3. Pour the drink into a glass and top with whipped cream.
