My live segment on Fox 40, I discussed how to use Licorice Root and Schizandra Berry Tea for cleansing the liver. Once the liver is de-clogged and destressed emotions dissolve from angered and agitated to calm and collected thoughts.

We now live in a world of diseased and it is everywhere becoming a common trend with our family, friends and acquaintances. The stats are alarming.

Scientists are finding that the reason for this increase in ailments is from our food, water, the very air we breathe – all have become potentially hazardous to our health.  We are becoming more aware of the chemicals that are around us but many of our households are still using bleach as a cleaner or as an ingredient in our cleaners, but it has been found to be very damaging to the respiratory tract.

The importance of detoxification is huge today, and there are ways to cleanse your body by understanding where your body is struggling. Are you having problems with your water system? When we are not bringing enough balance in our life, and, anytime we are not drinking enough water or “old school” dieting, the kidneys becomes overworked and overloaded. When the kidneys are working with a dehydrated body, it can’t process toxins and water in an efficient way. There are many foods that can help cleanse the liver naturally by stimulating its natural ability to clean toxic waste from the body.

When we overeat or eat processed or fried foods, and, anytime we are exposed to environmental pollutants or stress, the liver becomes overworked and overloaded. When the liver is taxed, it can’t process toxins and fat in an efficient way. There are many foods that can help cleanse the liver naturally by stimulating its natural ability to clean toxic waste from the body.

A great way to start balancing your Liver includes artichoke, asparagus, kale, and brussel sprouts. Eating the foods listed above is a great way to help keep your liver functioning properly. AN ANALOGY: LIVER DETOXIFICATION IS LIKE CLEANING YOUR LAUNDRY

  1. First a good baseline of nutrients allows the liver the ability to filter the blood; identifying good things (food and nutrients) and bad things (toxins and harmful substances). This is similar to finding stains in your laundry.
  2. PHASE 1 DETOXIFICATION. Next  the body uses enzymes and nutrients to transform the bad guys (toxins, used hormones, RX drugs, food additives, etc). The goal of this phase is to begin neutralizing a toxin and start to make it into a water-soluble compound that is able to leave the body. However at this half way point, toxin reactivity actually increases, and can cause problems if it does not continue to phase 2 right away. So doing a detox with a coach will be important to help you to the next stage. Think of phase 1 detoxification as a pre-wash cycle.
  3. PHASE 2 DETOXIFICATION. Phase 2 acts upon phase 1 as the final transformation stage on the toxin, making it water-soluble for removal from the body. Amino acids (building blocks of protein) DRIVE this stage, as they attach to the toxins to further neutralize and escort them out of the body. Phase 2 is like the main wash cycle that removes dirt and debris leaving your clothes clean.
  4. ELIMINATION. Lastly, the toxins are eliminated out the digestive track via bile, or via the kidneys in urine. Much like the drain and spin cycle.
